The challenge concerned designing some contemporary architecture in free expression despite strict local burocracy regulations where anything seemed to be not admitted, about shape, materials, net attic heighth and so on. It looked to be a mission impossible, as unfortunately often is in our country. Nevertheless constrictions were interpreted creatively inspiring solutions that maybe would be unexplored with no obstacle at all.
The driveways are the true entrances to the villas, but ramps and lanes disappear, covered by hanging gardens that connect dwellings to landscape.
Terraced gardens also merge the basement spaces to the outdoor site trough wide glazed windows creating an out of the ground continuty effect even for the lower level.
A correct orientation has inspired passive energy-efficient construction composition: the view to the country landscape is provided by large south-west facing windows, protected from considerable roof and balcony overhangs in summer, promoting a comfortable greenhouse effect in winter.
The project consists of three manor villas designed for the client and his two sons around a swimming pool on the edge of 60 hectares of the Castel San Pietro Terme’s Golf Club. Although each villa is designed with its own uniqueness, it combines architectural elements common to other villas but in a different way.

Project Objectives and Missions:
A modern house recalling some traditional "must have" elements for people who live in every day: the house has a roof, warm materials, cosy interiors, the view to the pool and the gardens is provided from everywhere inside the house, while respecting the landscape.
