CONTEXT. The territory of the Municipality of Costermano sul Garda is located in the north-western part of the province of Verona, in the hinterland between Torri del Benaco and Garda. It has a very wide and varied territorial development, including different types and morphologies of landscape contexts, from plain to hilly slopes. The highest point of the municipality is represented by the western slope of Mount Belpo at an altitude of about 665 metres above sea level, south of Sperane, while the lowest point is in the Garda plain at 113 m. In between lie hilly localities of rare beauty such as Marciaga, a hamlet of the municipality, where the applicant company's properties are located. In the present case, the above-mentioned properties are located in a landscape context of slope and terrace, or rather hill/mountain. The hillsides are also generally considered as connecting elements between the valley floor and prominent energies. In this case, we find ourselves on hilly terrain that is not very steep, with the presence of crags and planted with greenery. It is common to find these crops in terraced areas, as there are in fact both on the property and on neighbouring properties. From a building point of view, the surrounding area is characterised by a series of buildings constructed in different periods for residential, commercial and tourist accommodation purposes. ARCHITECTURE. A former wine estate on the flat expanse above the Beati Alti locality, with a splendid view of Sirmione and Lake Garda: this is the evocative location chosen for the Bran Villas project. The four buildings are characterised by the staggered arrangement of the two superimposed floors. Further recesses in the volumes form covered terraces overlooking the lake. The material and chromatic uniformity recalls the shape of a ribbon, which connects the elements and wraps around the living space like a sail offering shelter from the sun. The flooring extends from the living spaces outwards to the swimming pool, creating a virtual bridge between the building and Lake Garda. MATERIALS. The materials used were selected to make the houses cleaner and more essential: the external walls are made of light grey concrete, which is then sandblasted to make it rougher and to accentuate the colour tones. The railings and window frames are planned in metal, painted RAL8022 (blackish brown), as are the downpipes and metal sheets. The paving outside and around the pool is clad in natural stone. On the north side, on the other hand, only gravel has been provided, while the rest is cultivated as lawn.

Curriculum

ASAGGIO. The two architects met during their joint studies in Innsbruck and Florence. They graduated together with honors, obtaining the highest marks for their thesis on the railway area of Bolzano, under the supervision of Prof. Marino Moretti. In 2012 they founded the architecture studio ASAGGIO, acronym of the two names and literal expression of their philosophy, embodied by an aesthetic-architectural concept as contemporary as it is shrewd. A mutual inspiration which, through the many projects carried out together, has evolved into a common path called ASAGGIO. A turning point towards a new perspective on architecture, in which each project places the individual at the center. Love for design and creative passion go hand in hand with the desire to carry out each project to the highest quality standards. But the search for quality does not end with the choice of innovative materials and methods.
