The building is a single-family villa built in 2009 in Lugano in an area of single-family houses bordering the woods. The villa is structured on three floors, two floors above ground and one basement, the ground floor overlooks a terrace with swimming pool. The renovation project affected the entire property both internally and externally. The project is a particular case of building renovation, in fact the building, although recently built, had been built with poor quality spaces and finishes, the outdoor spaces were not very usable and after a few years from construction, the building already showed the signs of aging. The renovation was focused on the transformation into a high-level villa, with fine finishes and high spatial qualities. The project proposed a new internal circulation to make spaces more fluid and harmonious. All windows, bathrooms, floors, lights, finishes and furnishings have been replaced. The original resin floor has been replaced with oak parquet slats. A new fireplace has been added to the living area and all the furniture has been redesigned. The windows have been replaced with new minimal profiles, in the living area the windows are full-height, sliding, while the height of the internal and external floor have been brought to the same level so as to allow a fluid and uninterrupted communication between the inside and the outside. Curtains have been applied to the internal lintel with an integrated lighting system that illuminates the portion of the ceiling above the windows. The kitchen and the dining room have been redesigned, the kitchen is composed of a central island where the cooking space is located, above which there is a white volume in which the hood and the lighting have been inserted, the washing zone was placed under a window, so that you can enjoy the natural light and the view. The bathrooms have been transformed, the tub in the master bathroom has been replaced by a large floor shower with a single crystal wall, all the bathrooms have been clad in large stoneware slabs with a concrete look. The resin flooring of the outdoor terrace has been replaced by a floating flooring made of large slabs. The existing parapets were out of the standard, as they were scalable, and obstructed the view of the garden. To solve this aspect, it was decided to remove the parapets and build tubs of flowers below, thus reducing the height of the fall. A new metal staircase leads from the pool terrace to a new terrace built on the roof slab of the garage; the terrace has new parapets in concrete, upstream, and in transparent glass plates downstream, where you can admire the view of the city and the lake. A stainless steel outdoor kitchen has been created on the new terrace.
