The Figueiras Residence principle is to exhibit its closeness to nature and the low environmental impact, right at the facade there is evidence of the use of materials such as wood, plants, and concrete. The upper floor planter and the skylight that allows sunlight in, are examples of this approach. The Figueiras Residence entrance hall gives access to the social and service areas and to the stairs that lead to the second floor. On the second floor, the intimate sector is located, with an intimate living room, a master suite, two other suites, a playroom, a fitness center, and a rooftop. The first level includes an office, a guest bedroom, a kitchen, a laundry area and a 15-foot high living room with access to a balcony connected to the gourmet area and a swimming pool. The Gourmet area has a garden with an orchard, while the pool is adjacent to the steam room. The Biophilia technique applied in this architectural project ensures a connection with nature and reproduces a sense of peace and tranquility, turning the residence into a haven from the city' intense rhythm. Spaces are created that bring residents closer to the natural, such as the internal garden located under the stairs, which becomes a space for contemplation, another located on the rooftop with grass and plants, being a space for use, and the vegetation next to the windows, that attracts animals from the local ecosystem with varied sounds, colors and smells. Moreover, the solution to reduce the environmental impacts caused by the construction and its use over the years is the use of both certified materials and low-carbon emissions. The choice of these materials is carried out so that they have a low visual impact on the surroundings, such as concrete, gray frames and wood; these colors are intended to refer to the colors of nature, such as stones and logs. The roof receives photovoltaic plates that allow the capture of clean energy converted for domestic use. Green roofs were also inserted in the roofs, which have several sustainable benefits, such as thermal comfort, and increased relative humidity of the environment. The green roof also allows for greater drainage, avoiding flooding and facilitating the use of rainwater, which can be reused. The strategic positioning of the openings guarantees cross-ventilation and natural lighting which, in turn, is controlled by wooden louvers, ensuring thermal and lighting comfort in the internal environments. Such solutions, combined with a green roof, reduce significantly the energy costs for air conditioning.
