Course Description
The course examines a project that redefines the relationship between existing buildings, the sea, and natural wooded areas, safeguarding the environment by rearranging the buildings and landscape. Through an introductory text, images, and numerous technical drawings and construction plans of the two different building types, the course describes a major project that makes the beauty of its natural setting an important element. The course offers a comprehensive overview of the use of technologies and materials, focusing in particular on the design measures adopted and how the project fits in with a longstanding plan for the urban regeneration of Jesolo.

Learning Objectives – after reading the article and studying the drawings, you will be able to:

1. Describe the design measures taken so that the complex fits harmoniously into the natural landscape with minimal impact on its environment.
2. Discuss what form the relationship between the buildings and nature takes, and how the architects created a landmark that is part of the landscape itself.
3. Explain the design choices made, in terms of the use of materials, that led to the construction of different types of buildings that follow the lie of the land and reflect the colors of their setting.
4. Analyze the importance of communication between client and architect, and collaboration between the different specialists to ensure an end product that truly responds to the initial objective and ensures occupant wellbeing.
