Course Description
The course examines an example of contemporary architecture that has been integrated into its natural setting in an original and elegant fashion. Essential in form, the building was constructed using modern, high-performance materials in keeping with the demands for comfort, livability, and spatial usability of contemporary lifestyles. The course describes the project through images, technical drawings, construction details with explanatory legends, and an introductory text. On completing the course, the student will be able to discuss the importance of respecting a project’s natural setting, including the use of natural materials, with particular reference to the way architectural design contribute to meeting occupant functional requirements.
