Recently in Italy, the Very range received the ComfortSeating 2011 award for best public seating under the Comfort Index category, while the Zody_System 89 line won absolute first prize in the same competition in the Office Seating category. The ComfortSeating award is based on the Comfort Index, an objective measurement patented by ErgoCert that assesses the ability of seating to accommodate the user’s body shape while minimizing average and peak pressures, and pressure gradients. The design of the Zody_System 89, which has been on the market since 2006, stems from research performed for the company by the Human Performance Institute at Western Michigan University. This research found that every human has an asymmetry in the lumbar region - the result, among various factors, of postural habits. Haworth therefore developed an asymmetrical lumbar support, whose height and pressure can be adjusted independently on the left and right sides of the spine, while providing passive support to the pelvis to encourage correct posture. Aimed at a wide market, Zody_System 89 combines its innovative ergonomic features with the option of customizing the chair to suit different needs. The 4D armrests can be adjusted in four directions while the seat depth can also be changed. Made from 51 per cent recycled materials, Zody_System 89 has been designed so it’s easy to disassemble, in full compliance with the strictest emissions criteria, and is 98 per cent recyclable. The latest addition to the Very Seating office chair rage is Very Task. This chair is suitable for any type of work station and can be configured to suit user preferences, with options such as a mesh or upholstered backrest, fixed or adjustable armrests, and a large range of colourful fabrics. These chairs have adjustable depth and tilt, and feature the patented asymmetrical lumbar support system and a user-friendly synchronous mechanism. The ease with which the Very Task can be changed to different configurations means it can be used by different people while providing each with high comfort levels. Designed to be durable, Very Task meets all safety and quality standards. And at the end of its useful life, it is fully recyclable.
