Course DescriptionThe course illustrates a new hospital designed as a harmonious addition to a natural setting yet at the same time as an iconic, triangular-shaped landmark with imposing, oblique copper-clad sidewalls. Particular focus is given to the way the architects have ensured the building will deliver lasting energy-saving benefits and a reduced environment footprint. Course material includes a descriptive text, many photographs, technical drawings and a construction detail, all with accompanying legends. On completing the course, you will have gained in-depth information on how copper may be used in contemporary architecture.

- Illustrate how the architectural design allows inmates and visitors to come into greater contact with nature.
- Identify the strategies adopted to exploit natural daylight to the full in all interiors.
