Course Description
The course examines a project for a wine factory in Tuscany, involving “raising a layer of earth and sliding a long thin construction into the side of a natural incline.” The design, marked by its strong symbolic value, was integrated into a beautiful setting of hilly farmland. The text provides a description of the approach taken during the design and construction stages. The project, which includes production and tasting areas, is characterized by large spaces that are open to view. The course includes images and technical drawings, and provides construction details with explanatory legends.
