Course Description
The course provides informative insights into a museum designed with special focus on context, and examines how an architectural program successfully moves away from the conventional concept of a museum brief. Course material includes a descriptive text, photographs, and technical and construction-detail drawings. These will enable you to analyze the project and the technologies and materials used, with special focus on the creation of architecture as an iconic object. On completing the course, you will be able to discuss how stone, a natural material used since time immemorial, may be used in conjunction with the very latest technologies and materials to develop innovative forms.

  1. Analyze the exterior and interior finishing materials as a function of context, with special focus on stone.
  2. Assess how the architects have used form to develop an intriguing, innovative exhibition space.
