Course DescriptionThe course provides clear information on a tower building built in a skyscraper-dense urban setting. The program uses shape and materials to produce a vertical landmark that also succeeds in reducing its environmental footprint thanks to the design and construction strategies. Course material includes an explanatory text, many photographs, and a series of technical and construction-detail drawings. On completing the course, you will be able to describe how glass has been employed in this contemporary architecture project, and to apply this knowledge to your own work.

Learning Objectives – after reading the article and studying the drawings, you will be able to:
- Analyze the technology and materials used for the structural frame and infills of the Aqua Tower and the extent to which these afford occupant comfort while lowering the building’s overall energy consumption.
- Identify the empirical choices made that led to the adoption of the building’s particular form as a function of solar exposure and optimal dwelling unit layout.
- Illustrate the technologies applied on the basis of the construction-detail drawing.
- Assess the relationship created between interior and exterior and the function of balconies and terraces as natural sun shields and ventilation enhancers.
