Course DescriptionThe course compares the architectures of two Rome museums that express a completely new take on the contemporary art experience.
Course material includes an introductory text, pictures, and numerous technical and construction-detail drawings with legends. Together they provide an exhaustive overview of the projects and the cutting-edge technologies and materials employed, and allow investigation of the ways in which the two museums offer their public an innovative contemporary-art experience.

Learning Objectives – after reading the article and studying the drawings, you will be able to:
- Analyze the materials used for the structural frame and interior and exterior finishes and the extent to
which these are appropriate to each museum’s setting. - Analyze the innovative design of forms and circulation routes as a function of the museum project.
- Describe how natural light has been used to greatest effect in environments designed to display works of art.
- Identify the innovative technologies employed to create a new museum concept.
