Course DescriptionThe course presents a new office block in the Milan Tradeshow quarter. The keynote of the program is the juxtaposition of transparency and opacity with the use of different materials to produce functionality and formal elegance. Course material includes a text illustrating the concepts underpinning the program and how these were put into practice. The text is accompanied by photographs, technical drawings and a construction-detail illustrating the materials and technologies used.

Learning Objectives – after reading the article and studying the drawings, you will be able to:
- Analyze the architects’ creative process, how the relationship with the client was handled and the strategic concepts put into practice.
- Explain the reasons behind the architects’ choice of color, their use of materials and the volume composition.
- Describe how interior spatial distribution meets the building’s functional and formal requirements.
- Analyze the envelope and the performance of the materials used.
