Course Description
The course deals with the way a modern architecture relates to its natural setting - a steep, wooded slope – and how a natural landscape has been made an integral part of a residential interior. The house in question is located in the hills overlooking the northern Italian city of Turin commanding sweeping views of the valley below. The course material comprises picture, technical drawings, a descriptive text and a construction-detail drawing with legend, providing comprehensive information of the project and the technologies and materials used. On completing the course, you will be able to discuss how a contemporary house has been made to blend with its countryside environment and the way the architectural program and residential functions have been adapted to allow this.
