Course DescriptionThe course provides information on how a contemporary architecture can be made to blend effortlessly into its natural landscape, and how a house complying with modern living requirements may become a successful addition to a traditional tourist resort, in this case, a small Japanese town in the Prefecture of Nagano not far from Tokyo.
The course material includes many pictures, technical and construction-detail drawings with legends, and a descriptive text providing in-depth information on the overall project and the technologies and materials used.
On completing the course, you will be able to discuss how a contemporary architecture reinstates a close relationship between indoors and out, between a man-made artifact and its natural setting.
Learning Objectives – after reading the article and studying the drawings, you will be able to:
