10 June, 3.30 pm Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista
San Polo 2454 Venice
Today it is more important than ever that we address the need for a renewed awareness that will constantly question the quality of architecture in terms of both territorial resources and construction materials. Discussion and debate with some of the leading names in contemporary architecture will demonstrate how meaning can be given to actions and responsibility assigned to designs for architecture that is aware and, therefore, appropriate. The speakers at the event, now being presented for the second time after first being staged at Terrazza Martini, Milan, on 24 September last year, will be leading Italian and international architects, who will illustrate their projects as if they were entries in a guidebook to aware, sustainable architecture.
To mark its 30th anniversary, SanMarco will be presenting participants with a copy of the book Architetture Contemporanee – SanMarco, laterizio per un’architettura sostenibile, edited by architects Luca Molinari and Simona Etiquette, and published by Skira Editore.
